Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the Labbaik platform, you agree to these Terms. If you are acting on behalf of an institution (e.g. a mosque or maktab), you confirm you have authority to bind that institution.

The Labbaik platform (uselabbaik.com) — a maktab, madrasah, mosque, and Islamic community management platform — is operated by Labbaik Labs Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 17166064), with its registered office at Unit 21 Walker Avenue, Milton Keynes, MK12 5TW. Labbaik provides a platform for maktabs, madrasahs, mosques, and other Islamic community organisations, including a Maktab Student Management System (registration, attendance, curriculum and progress tracking, parent communications, and payment processing), a certificate issuance and public verification service (including Nikah and other document types), and donation/fundraising tools including one-off and recurring monthly giving. Specific features available depend on the subscription plan and account type held by your institution.

Where an organisation uses Labbaik to issue certificates (such as Nikah certificates), the organisation is solely responsible for the accuracy of the certificate's contents and for ensuring the certificate is issued in accordance with applicable religious and legal requirements. Labbaik provides the technology platform only and does not verify the substantive accuracy of any certificate's contents, nor does Labbaik's verification service confirm the identity or authority of the person who issued the certificate — it confirms only that the certificate's recorded contents have not been altered since the date of issue. For Nikah applications, the platform displays a reference minimum marriage age for the country selected on the application, and will not let an application below that age proceed. This is provided as a convenience check only, based on a general country-level reference and not legal advice, and does not account for state/provincial variation, judicial waivers, or changes in local law.

As a condition of submitting a Nikah application, Labbaik also requires both applicants to confirm — among the other eligibility terms they must accept — that each party is entering into the marriage of their own free will and is not doing so under duress or coercion. This confirmation is recorded against the application. Beyond requiring and recording these confirmations, Labbaik has no independent means of verifying a couple's ages or that a marriage is free of coercion.

It is the organisation's sole responsibility — as the party conducting, reviewing, and approving the ceremony — to independently verify that any marriage it performs or certifies is lawful under the applicable jurisdiction's marriage-age and other legal requirements, and to satisfy itself, through its own safeguarding and vetting processes, that the marriage is free of coercion. Labbaik is not responsible for, and accepts no liability in connection with, any underage, forced, or otherwise unlawful marriage certified through the platform. The organisation may decline or revoke any application where it has reason to believe these conditions are not met.

Where an organisation accepts donations through Labbaik (including via "Sadaqah pots" or similar giving pages), donations are processed via Stripe Connect directly into the organisation's own connected Stripe account. Labbaik is not a party to the donor's gift and does not take custody of donated funds.

A flat platform fee of 1% applies to all donations collected through the platform, except donations designated as Zakat, which carry no platform fee (0%). For non-Zakat donations, whether the applicable platform fee (and Stripe's own processing fee) is paid by the donor or deducted from the organisation's receipt depends on whether the donor chooses to cover transaction fees at the point of giving: where a donor opts to cover fees, the additional amount charged covers both fees and the organisation receives the full donated amount; where a donor does not, both fees are deducted from the donation before it reaches the organisation.

For Zakat-designated donations, covering the transaction fee is not optional: Stripe's own processing fee (there is no Labbaik platform fee on Zakat) is always added on top of the amount the donor designates as Zakat, and is never deducted from it, so that the full designated amount reaches the cause. This reflects the Zakat fiqh requirement that the whole amount given as Zakat must reach its recipient, and applies regardless of the donor's fee-covering preference on other donation types.

The Organisation is solely responsible for ensuring that donations collected through the platform are not directed to, used for the benefit of, or otherwise associated with any individual, organisation, or cause involved in terrorism, terrorist financing, corruption, money laundering, or other unlawful activity, and for ensuring that donated funds are not transferred to, or for the benefit of, any country, region, or area subject to UK, EU, or UN financial sanctions or other trade or transfer restrictions. The Organisation must comply with all applicable anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and charity/donation law in every jurisdiction in which it operates or to which it directs donated funds, including, where applicable, Charity Commission guidance on international giving. Labbaik takes reasonable measures — including those applied by our payment processing partners — to help prevent misuse of the platform for these purposes, but this does not replace the Organisation's own duty of care, and Labbaik accepts no liability for the Organisation's failure to comply with this paragraph. A breach of this paragraph is treated as a breach of Prohibited Organisations and Safeguarding above, and Labbaik may exercise any of the rights described there in response.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure. Accounts for children under 13 may only be created by the institution or parent/guardian. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

• You may sign in using Google or Apple OAuth. By doing so, you authorise Labbaik to receive your name and email address from the respective provider. You remain responsible for the security of your linked account.

Subscription fees are set out at the point of sign-up and are billed in advance. Payments are processed by Stripe Inc. and are subject to their own terms. All fees are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.

• A platform fee is applied to all Stripe payment transactions for class/admission fees processed through the platform on behalf of the Organisation, in addition to Stripe's own processing fees (typically 1.4% + 30p for European cards, or 2.9% + 30p for non-European cards, subject to Stripe's current pricing at stripe.com/gb/pricing). Unless Labbaik has agreed an individually negotiated rate with the Organisation, this fee is charged on a graduated scale based on the Organisation's trailing 30-day payment volume through the platform, so the rate on each additional pound of volume falls as the Organisation processes more:

  Both fees are deducted automatically at the point of transaction.
• Subscription fees are non-refundable. If you cancel your subscription, you will retain access to the platform until the end of your current billing period, after which access will cease. No partial-period refunds are issued.
• Platform transaction fees (at the applicable rate described above) are non-refundable once a transaction has been processed. These fees are deducted automatically at the point of payment and cannot be reversed by Labbaik. If a payment is refunded to a parent by the maktab, the platform fee on the original transaction is not refunded.
• Stripe's own processing fees are governed by Stripe's terms and are non-refundable by Labbaik under any circumstances.
• Where a payment is collected via UK BACS Direct Debit instead of by card, Stripe charges its own flat 1% processing fee in place of the card-based percentage fee described above. This is Stripe's fee, not Labbaik's, and does not change the platform fee set out above — it simply means Stripe's own share of the transaction cost is typically lower, so the Organisation's overall transaction costs can be lower when BACS Direct Debit is used.
• Labbaik is not party to any fee arrangement between the Organisation and its students or parents. Refund disputes between the Organisation and parents are the sole responsibility of the Organisation.
• The Organisation may opt into "Pass the Fees" for a class, Nikah application, or other paid item, at its own discretion and on an item-by-item basis, configurable at the point that class, Nikah application, or other item is created. Where enabled, a small additional charge is added to cover the platform fee and/or Stripe's processing fee described above, rather than the Organisation absorbing them — used consistently, this allows the Organisation to run its use of Labbaik without bearing any of these fees itself. Where the Organisation enables this option for a given item, the applicant, student, or parent is shown the fee clearly at the point of enrolment or payment, before they pay, but is not able to opt out of it individually. The Organisation remains solely responsible for ensuring this option is used, and the fee disclosed, in accordance with applicable law.
• A fixed platform fee of 1% is applied to the full amount of all certificate payments (for example, Nikah certificates) processed through the platform. This fee is separate from the donation fee model described in Donations above. Where an Organisation has enabled automatic ID verification for a certificate type, a fixed per-party ID verification cost (currently £1.50 per party) also applies and is reflected in the certificate's price at the point of payment.

• You must not use the platform unlawfully, or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
• You must not upload malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or interfere with platform security.
• You must not use the platform to send spam, harass others, or distribute harmful content.
• You must comply with safeguarding obligations when handling children's data.

Labbaik is a platform exclusively for legitimate Islamic educational institutions including maktabs, madrasahs, and mosque supplementary schools. The following are strictly prohibited from registering or using the platform:

• Any organisation listed on the UK Government's proscribed terrorist organisations list (gov.uk/proscribed-terror-groups-or-organisations).
• Any organisation subject to sanctions under UK, EU, or UN sanctions regimes.
• Any organisation whose primary or secondary purpose involves the promotion of extremism, radicalisation, or political violence.
• Any individual acting on behalf of such an organisation.

By registering an Organisation account, the person completing registration warrants that:

• (a) the institution is a genuine Islamic educational establishment operating lawfully in its jurisdiction;
• (b) the institution is not listed on any UK government proscription or sanctions list;
• (c) the institution will not use the platform to distribute, store, or facilitate extremist, radicalising, or otherwise unlawful content.

Labbaik Labs Ltd reserves the right to:

• Refuse registration to any organisation at our sole discretion, without providing reasons.
• Suspend or permanently terminate any account where we have reasonable grounds to suspect a breach of this section.
• Report relevant information to UK authorities including the police, the Charity Commission, or the Home Office Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit (CTIRU) where we are legally required or have reasonable grounds to do so.
• Cooperate fully with any lawful investigation by UK authorities.

This cooperation is not limited to this section. Where Labbaik has reasonable grounds to believe that a breach of applicable law has occurred on or through the platform — including in connection with a Nikah or other certificate application, a donation, a safeguarding matter, an event, or a class or other educational activity — we may disclose relevant account, transaction, or content data to, and cooperate with, the police or other law enforcement, regulatory, or governmental authorities with jurisdiction over the matter, whether in the United Kingdom or elsewhere, whether or not the Organisation consents. This may include responding to a lawful request from such an authority, or making a report on our own initiative where we consider it necessary — for example, in connection with a suspected forced or underage marriage, a safeguarding risk to a child, or suspected terrorist financing or money laundering. Labbaik accepts no liability for cooperating with a law enforcement, regulatory, or governmental authority in good faith under this section.

We are not liable for any losses arising from account suspension or termination under this section. The Organisation indemnifies Labbaik Labs Ltd against any claims, penalties, or regulatory action arising from the Organisation's breach of this section.

You retain ownership of all data and content you upload. You grant Labbaik a limited licence to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the service. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any personal data you provide.

You grant Labbaik a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display the Organisation's name, trademarks, and logo on our website, and in sales and marketing materials, case studies, and social media, to identify the Organisation as a user of the Labbaik platform. This licence includes the right to make reasonable, non-derogatory adaptations to the logo for design purposes — such as resizing, cropping, or recolouring it (for example, rendering it in white or a single colour) to fit the surface it appears on. Such use does not imply the Organisation's endorsement of Labbaik beyond its use of the platform. The Organisation may withdraw this consent at any time by emailing legal@uselabbaik.com, and we will remove the relevant materials within a reasonable time.

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. Where Labbaik processes personal data on behalf of an institution, the institution is the data controller and Labbaik is the data processor under a Data Processing Agreement.

We aim to keep the platform available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may carry out scheduled maintenance and will give reasonable notice where possible.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or that pose a security or safeguarding risk. On termination, we will retain or delete data in line with our Privacy Policy.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Labbaik is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, or loss of data. Our total liability in any 12-month period is capped at the fees paid by you to us in that period. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
